Hope you all had a great Thanksgiving! If you’re like me, you cut yourself some slack and had that extra helping of stuffing and maybe that slice of pie you’ve been denying yourself for a few weeks. And you had an extra beer or two when you went out with all those friends you haven’t seen in awhile.
And it’s okay. Because that’s what the holidays are for – to have some fun with your family and friends. It’s okay to live a little. We want to have some balance in our lives. That’s why we train hard – so we can play hard too.
The key is to manage that balance and remember what’s important to you. You’re going out with your buddies at the end of the week and you know it’s going to be a long boozy night? Don’t go on any benders the rest of the week. You know you’ve got a bunch of parties in the evenings during your normal work out time? Move your training session to the morning. Can’t work out tomorrow? Make time to work out today. Can’t say no to the platter of brownies and cookies? Call up your trainer and schedule an extra session that week.
Remember your priorities. And cut yourself some slack! (And keep training hard.)
